That's Not Your Real Name
In Currents - The Early November
Standard Tuning
It's probably not the way Ace plays it, but the notes are there. Basically play a
D chord the entire time without the finger on the high E string and simply add on
the bass notes. During the G on the chorus adds a little something onto it, just
play 4th and 2nd fret on the G string.
Verse 1
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Slow down and fade out it's almost a pattern to me
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Lay down mistakes come out. It's all just a motion to me.
D/A G
Yeah I could be wrong.
Chorus
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Wake up you're faking. I know that you're laying awake
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Shake off break down. I'm tired of obeying the breeze.
Verse 2
D D/C#
Crossed arms and crooked eyes. Begging like I'm on the line.
D/B D/A G
I hope that there's more left in me.
D D/C#
Stale from the middle in. I'm broke but it comes off considerate.
D/B D/A G
I know that it's played and it's weak.
Chorus
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Wake up you're faking. I know that you're laying awake
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Shake off break down. I'm tired of obeying the breeze.
D/A G D/A G
Yeah I could be wrong.. Yeah I could be done.
D D/C# D/B D/A G
Slow down and fade out. It's all just a pattern to me.
