I Can t Stand the Rain - Ann Peebles - 1973
Composers: Bryant/Peebles/Miller
Submitted by Greg B.
NOTE: I m submitting this under the Commitments, however I only
have Ann Peebles 1973 recording to work from. (she doesn t have
her own tab section). The Commitment s version is pretty true to
the original. After all the whole premise of the fairy tale group
was to mimic the original soul masters.
Intro:
almost a reggae-like strumming pattern on @ 2nd position. do for first lyric line

[Chorus]
I can t stand the rain against my window
Bringing back sweet memories
Hey window pane do you remember
How sweet it used to be
[Verse]
When we were together
Everything was so grand
Now that we ve parted
There s one sound that I just can t stand...
[Chorus]
I can t stand the rain against my window
Bringing back sweet memories
I can t stand the rain against my window
Cause he s not here with me
[Verse]
Alone with the pillow
Where his head used to lay
I know you ve got some sweet memories
But like a window you ain t got nothing to say
[Interlude - Horn Riff]
Dbl-Stop approximation of Horn interlude
